IBA Group Participates in SAP Conference in South Africa

November 10, 2017

From March 11 to March 14, IBA Group participated in the conference and exhibition entitled Mastering SAP. Held in Johannesburg, South Africa, the event was split into three virtual sections, namely SAP Business Analytics, SAP Technologies, and SAP HR and Payroll. IBA Group was involved in the technology and BI sections of the event.

The conference attracted more than 400 participants. In addition to SAP, the most compelling topics were digital business and digital transformation, and machine learning. A number of workshops focused on practical SAP issues, including using BusinessObjects on HANA, HANA Express, SAP Process Mining, Predictive Analytics & Machine Learning, moving to S/4 HANA, and SAP HANA SQL.

Timo Elliott, VP and Global Innovation Evangelist at SAP (FRA) in his opening keynote presentation said: “Digital business is about intelligently connecting people, things, and businesses. New technologies like machine learning, the internet of everything, blockchain, cloud, and the SAP HANA platform will transform value chains to enable completely new ways of doing business.”

Waldemar Adams, Senior Vice President Chief Business Office: SAP Europe, Middle East, Africa & Greater China, SAP SE (GER), in his presentation entitled Leading Successful Digital Transformation with Smart Analytics & Machine Learning highlighted that “Machine Learning is the new horizon after Big Data and Digital Transformation”.

Dimitri Denissiouk, IBA South Africa Managing Director, presented three scenarios of migration to S/4 HANA, intended for companies that are looking to modify and upgrade their SAP systems. The presentation examined new implementation, system conversion, and landscape transformation as the S/4 HANA migration scenarios based on the projects that IBA Group successfully completed for its customers.

SAP S/4HANA, a new generation of SAP Business Suite, runs on HANA database. SAP S/4HANA is characterized by simplifications, massively increased efficiency, and compelling features, including planning and simulation options in a number of conventional transactions.

Upgrading to S/4HANA could be a challenge. It could be done following any of three possible scenarios, and it’s important to consider various factors when choosing a scenario that suits best.

  • New Implementation: If you are new to SAP or if the design of your current SAP landscape is back from the 90`s
  • System Conversion: If your current SAP landscape has been highly maintained, you are most likely to convert to SAP S/4HANA in a one-step procedure
  • Landscape Transformation: If you want to consolidate your current system landscape or to transform data into SAP S/4HANA system selectively.

In addition, IBA Group had numerous meetings with potential customers at its booth and during networking events.
